Short Group Description

Güiramigos DanceCompany is the bachata show team from Utrecht, the Netherlands. Our history begins in 2011 when an international dance artist, associated with the dance school Union Salsa, formed and led a student demo team in Utrecht to perform one of his bachata choreographies. After a successful run, the artist left and the student team disbanded. However, three of the members decided to build a new team and relive the show team experience.

As a new group of motivated amateur dancers, we created our own first choreography in 2012. One that we proudly performed an entire year. It was time to think bigger and expand our vision. Our new mission was to connect with the world through bachata. We worked harder and developed in dance and musicality. Our independence and group dynamics made us grow close as a group of friends united by a mutual love for bachata and performing on stage. Strength through unity, friendship and joy became the core values of our vision. That’s when we dubbed ourselves Güiramigos DanceCompany.
